What Happened to the Indians?
Long before the Pilgrims landed, Spanish Conquistadors brought
diseases, horses, whips, swords, guns and vicious dogs to America;
they took women, food and slaves as they went. North America withstood
Spanish Conquest to become the ONLY place in the New World that Spain never
colonized. Spain reacted by blaming American Indians for their failure.
They conceived a prejudice against Indians which others acquired.
The Devil's image, a "Red Man with a Spear," was born when Spanish Conquest ended at Chicago. Spain devastated America's
Indian Nations with foreign diseases, then crippled the survivors with a horrible prejudice. Pioneers and Pilgrims brought that image with them from Europe. American Indians have suffered ever since.
